Steven Grainger

Steven was born and raised in Forsyth County and has served clients in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas since 2011. Steven’s experience in multiple areas of law ranging from criminal defense to complex civil litigation has molded him into a seasoned trial lawyer and, experienced advocate.

After serving as general counsel for a Florida construction company, Steven learned the fundamentals of trial law under Winston-Salem trial legend Carl Parrish and went on to try 11 jury cases and dozens of bench trials in Forsyth County as a solo practitioner. Later in his career he represented families in wrongful death cases against for-profit prison medical providers and worked on other complex business disputes. At Hartsoe & Associates, P.C., Steven represents clients in complex family law matters and small business litigation where his trial, litigation, and negotiation skills honed over the past 13 years are used to navigate families during their toughest times.

Outside the office Steven is a connoisseur of good TV, an avid fan of European football (aka soccer) and the US Men’s National Team, and some would say an amateur dog whisperer. Steven has been to hundreds of concerts and music festivals all around the country and never feels more at home than on the lawn at an outdoor venue with live music and good people.
